Welcome to today's their devotional of our 10 Day Fast Forward 24 fast.
Today's verse comes from Colossians 2:7 And it reads: Let your roots grow down into Him and let your lives be built on Him, then your faith will grow strong in the truth that you were taught and you will overflow with thankfulness.
What a powerful verse. Let's take three things from this thought:
Number One, ESTABLISH YOUR ROOTS.
A tree's roots grow deep into the ground to make it strong and healthy. As we see in verse 7, we are encouraged to establish a deeper relationship with Christ in order to establish a strong foundation for our lives. In the same way that a tree's roots go deep into the ground for support, we need to allow our lives to be deeply rooted in Christ. God provides spiritual strength and sustenance for the believer.
Number Two, BUILD ON HIM.
By building our lives on the teachings and principles of Christ, we are assured stability and resilience in the face of life's challenges.
Number Three, OVERFLOW WITH THANKFULNESS.
This notion of overflowing with thankfulness paints a picture of abundance and gratitude. When our faith is strong and deeply rooted it naturally overflows with thankfulness, much like a fountain overflowing with water. This image conveys an abundant and joyful life that stems from a strong connection with our God. Who doesn't want that? So today, let's plan our roots deeper in Christ. Let's have our lives continually built in Him so that we are overflowing with thankfulness to a world that desperately needs it.
